Caney Valley (OK) in Full Swing in Summer Pride
Caney Valley Trojans football is into summer workouts this offseason under first year head coach Derrick Hammer.
This summer, the Trojans are participating in a 7-on-7 passing league in Pawhuska.
With a new coach and a young team, Hammer talked about the leadership he's gotten out of his experienced players.
The Trojans will return a handful of seniors and upperclassmen from last year's roster. Caney Valley went 1-9 last season in the final year under former head coach Stephen Mitchell.
After not participating in a team camp in the spring, passing league action this summer will be the first time that the Trojans are in a game-like environment. Hammer talked about some things he's looking for while watching his guys get game ready.
We will have more Caney Valley football throughout the offseason.
