OKWU Baseball Advances in KCAC Tournament

Oklahoma Wesleyan baseball cruised in their KCAC tournament opener on Thursday night in Joplin, taking out Avila University in the opening round, 6-2.
 
OKWU controlled the pace all night, they never trailed. The Eagles finished with 15 hits to complement the six runs scored. Victor Sanchez and Chase Pinheiro led the way offensively with three hits each.
 
Evan Foor was excellent on the mound again. He went seven frames, allowed seven hits, both runs were earned, walked one and struck out four. Matthew Weidkamp went the final two frames, he struck out four and didn't allow a hit.
 
The win sends Oklahoma Wesleyan into the second round of the KCAC conference tournament. The Eagles meet the 5-seed Tabor College on Friday at 6:45 p.m. in Joplin.
